a Hitachi Telecom (USA) sponsored "IP Over ATM Networks" project which may grow to include participation by a consortium of several companies. Part of this project is a study of Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) being done in cooperation with Cisco Systems in Research Triangle Park, NC (photo 96K).

a Scientific-Atlanta sponsored digital two-way broadband CATV system for studying applications and communications issues at several layers (more information) (photo).

We are starting a project with the Georgia Tech Information Security Center on intelligent tools for network security.

a Cabletron Systems sponsored testbed for studying the effectiveness of fast-switched Ethernet networks (photo 60K).

the internal network for the GCATT Building, and the Extended Experimental Network (XXNet). Randy Abler has made it possible to see GCATT Building real-time network traffic graphs over the Web.

a National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored vBNS Project (very-high speed Broadband Network System).
